I hope this is the right place to post. I've written a longer blog post about this, but here's a summary.
During exploration when I'm using a cargo scanner on a tower in a data or relic site, I think the game should tell me what type of container each item could be in. Don't make players have to use google to find a cheat sheet and don't make them miss the treasure just because they didn't guess the right type of container, after all the work they did to probe and hack the tower.
Also *every* tower, even in high-sec, should contain something that shows up on a cargo scanner. Even if it's near-worthless T1 salvage, have *something* appear so that the user learns that the cargo scanner is a valuable tool (as a newb I didn't even know there *were* cargo scanners!) and that the cargo scanner will tell you what kind of container to try and pick up. This will train them in the right technique and they'll soon learn to head into low/null sec to get richer loot.
It's not obvious, at least to me, what the difference is between Parts, Material and Equipment. As a new player, perhaps without a cargo scanner (or even with one!) which container type should I assume a decryptor will live in? I probably won't notice the tiny, tiny icon that flashes up in the HUD when I open a container and I'm not going to have the patience to experiment. Knowing that I simply *guessed* wrong and that cost me millions, was very very frustrating and off-putting from this game. I felt like I'd jumped through all the hoops I was asked to, and then the game teased me with Good Loot, then snatched it away.
Short version: Please add container types to the output of the cargo scanner, and make sure the cargo scanner identifies at least one thing in every tower in a data/relic site. |

I would like to be able to make a contract that includes items in a station container. My station trader sets aside some items to send to my other character, placing them in a station container. But when I go to ship those out, using a courier contract, I first have to drag them out of the container....and now they're lost in the mess of crap in my hangar! This is .... annoying, to say the least. |

Suggestion: Have an option to automatically rename my ship to the fitting's name when I use a saved fitting. keywords: fitting, ship naming
I fit ships for my corp and one of the steps that could easily be eliminated is having to rename the ship. I fit a lot...a LOT...of Atrons, and having to rename each one manually from "Vic Vorlon's Atron" to "Rinzler" (which is the name of the fit) could be done automatically. Simple add a checkbox to the fitting management screen captioned "Apply name". Remember the setting between sessions (once set I'd almost always want to leave it on).
When I click the "Fit" button it would attach the modules/rigs as usual and, if the checkbox is checked, change the ship name to "Rinzler" for me. |

Suggestion: Add an checkbox to filter the Places list to show only bookmarks in the current system. Keywords: People,Places,Bookmarks,Filter Note: When I keep my Places/bookmarks list open, most of the time I'm only interested in bookmarks in the system. Things like safes, insta-dock/insta-undocks. I'd like to filter out all the distractions of other bookmarks from other systems, and have it auto-update as a I jump between systems.
The client already does something along these lines, coloring bookmarks green if they're in the current system. But completely removing the other bookmarks from view, optionally, would be an excellent addition. |

Suggestion: Marquee select should only lock things in your overview keywords:marquee, select, camera Note: I like the idea of the marquee selector but it should be obvious that I don't want to lock EVERYTHING under the box - just the items in my overview. I'm not interested in locking asteroids, drones, large collideable objects and fleetmates if I'm on my PVP tab! |

Suggestion: Have a "Show Differences" button on the Compare screen, which automatically selects the item properties that have different values. It's annoying to have to play "guess which property has a difference" when you're looking at a group of items you're unfamiliar with. I just want to quickly know what is different between these items and be able to skip clicking on properties that have the same value across the selected items.

Suggestions: Select Next Target should proceed left to right, top to bottom, not in the order in which targets were locked. By default you can use Alt+Right Arrow (Next target) and Alt+Left Arrow (previous target) to change which locked target is selected, but most of the time they are in reverse order of how they appear on screen. Alt+Right Arrow moves the selection to the LEFT and vice versa.
It would be better if "next" always went left (then wrapped around to the far left if you were on the rightmost target), and "previous" went the other way.
You can go top-to-bottom for folks that have their targets arranged vertically.

Suggestion:Broker fees should be higher for longer duration orders, and lower for short duration orders.
Broker fees are the same regardless of whether you choose a one day duration or three months. I think there should be a trade-off between order duration and broker fees. A longer duration order means you're not having to attend to that order for a longer time, and that's worth some ISK. For those willing to use short duration orders and log in more often to babysit them, they get to pay cheaper fees.
